PEKANBARU – Alleged practices of abuse of authority have again tarnished law enforcement institutions. A journalist and General Manager of Online Media www.LidikRiau.com and www.BeritaLintasIndonesia.id, Ansori bin Lukman, spoke up and asked for official clarification regarding the report which stated that he was on the Wanted List (DPO) or a fugitive. He considered that this information was not only misleading, but also a form of slander and character assassination of the journalist profession.
“Since I was arrested in a private house, the Pekanbaru Prosecutor’s Office investigators have developed an opinion as if I had run away and was uncooperative. Even though in fact that is not the case. The DPO’s narrative is tendentious, speculative and proven to be a hoax,” stressed Ansori in an annoyed tone.
According to Ansori, at every stage of the legal process he has been involved in, he has always been cooperative and upholds the principle of presumption of innocence. However, ironically, releases and news appeared which led public opinion to say that he was a fugitive.

In front of the Chairman of the Regional Management Council (DPD) I of the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI) for Riau Province, Ansori openly mentioned the involvement of the Head of Intel and the Head of Public Relations of the Pekanbaru Prosecutor’s Office in forming the narrative of the DPO’s status.
Located in the Pendopo Pemuda Riau, Jalan Thamrin, Pekanbaru, Friday (9/1/2026), Chairman of the DPD KNPI Riau Larshen Yunus strongly criticized this alleged practice. He believes that the act of spreading hoax information by law enforcement officials is a serious violation and cannot be tolerated.
“The law is about evidence. It is unlawful for law enforcement officials to abuse their authority, let alone producing and spreading hoax information about the DPO status of a journalist,” said Larshen. prosecutor who is suspected of being involved.
“If necessary, we will take this case directly to the Attorney General’s Office in Jakarta. Arrest and imprison if it is proven,” he said loudly.

KNPI Riau believes that it is impossible for the media to dare to publish the DPO status of Ansori without a source or direction from the Pekanbaru Prosecutor’s Office. Therefore, Larshen Yunus asked all parties to unite against dirty practices that hurt the spirit of the law.
“End speculation and charades. Prosecutors have clear duties and functions, don’t deviate. Digital traces already exist, communication history is complete, case files are also complete. Then why build wild opinions?” he stressed.
Until this news was published, KNPI Riau officially urged the Prosecutor’s Office’s internal and external supervisors to immediately investigate and take firm action against prosecutors suspected of spreading this hoax narrative.
“The prosecutor must be held accountable. If proven, give strict sanctions and imprisonment,” concluded Larshen Yunus in closing his statement.
